Hot Diggity’s Fairy Tale Forest opened in 1957. It had eight acres of shaded pathways leading to more than 20 cottages. Each cottage contained a fairy tale diorama – including some with taxidermied animals (e.g., "The Rabbit School" and "The Seven Kids"). Other fairy tales depicted included: Cinderella, The Three Pigs, Hansel & Gretel, Pinocchio, and Peter Pumpkin Eater.
Paul Woehle, Sr., a German immigrant, started building Fairy Tale Forest in 1955 at the age of 40. The cottages were all designed and made by Woehle and his two sons. There were also kiddie rides, magic shows, story-telling, and roaming costumed characters. In addition, there was a gift/candy shop and snack bar in the main building. The place closed in 2003 and is up for sale. As of 2007, the place is still there but has been ravaged by vandals.
